Sugar Cookies for Flavor

This recipe tastes wonderful and therefore is for flavor only.  Don’t even consider giving them away, you won’t make it to the front door without breaking some.  Preheat oven to 375oF (190.5 oC)

  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • 1 Tbsp milk
  • 1 ¾ cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼  tsp salt
  • Icing sugar for rolling out

Cream the butter and sugar.  Add the eggs and vanilla.  Beat until fluffy and then add the milk.  In a separate bowl blend the flour, baking powder and salt until well mixed.  Combine the liquids with the dry until well mixed.  Cover and chill for at least 1 hour.  Leave the dough you are not using in the fridge.  Roll out to 1/8 thickness and bake for 8 minutes or until the edges are slightly brown.  Makes approximately 100 cookies.
