A great Christmas Cookie Recipe
This recipe will give you about 120 sugar cookies.
BIG BATCH COOKIES - This recipe also works for 'Flash Freeze'
When you need to make a Big Batch of cookies in a short about of time - this is the recipe for approximately 10 dozen cookies.
This recipe can be made in a mixer. Add the ingredients in the order indicated. The dough will end up light an creamy; almost like ice cream without the cold.
To Flash Freeze - use a 1 inch scoop to make a nice uniform size - place then on a cookie sheet or plate and freeze. Once they are frozen they can be stored in a freezer bag and baked later. . . . This is so slick! The frozen cookies can be thawed while the oven is heating.
- 2 cups butter
- 4 cups sugar
- 4 eggs
- 2 cups of oil
- 12 cups of flour
- 4 tsp soda
- 4 tsp cream of tartar
- 4 tsp vanilla
Flatten with a glass dipped in sugar. Bake on a greased pan 10 - 12 minutes at 350 degrees.
You can also decorate them as you wish with sprinkles. Use a cookie cutter to create the shape you want (stars, etc).
Note: 10 dozen cookies is a lot - this recipe halves very well too. And it will also work for rolled cookies if you want to take the time. Otherwise don't bother, this is for speed christmas cookie making!
